Reporting to the Supervisor, Business Support and Operations, the Technical Analyst plays a key role in supporting and enhancing Public Works data management systems.
Contributes to the coordination, implementation, and continuous improvement of department‑supported applications, ensuring effective system functionality and reliable data to support operational decision‑making across Public Works.
Managing and maintaining the EAM software.
Writing SQL queries for KPIs, developing reports using tools like Power BI and maintaining the data dictionary.
Resolving complex, day-to-day functional and technical issues, including interface, database, and application problems.
Mapping business processes, identifying opportunities for streamlining maintenance activities, and supporting other systems (e.g., GIS, ERP(SAP).
Application and system (UAT) and testing for upgrades and new functionalities for internal and external clients.
Creation and deploy of training documentation, documenting data standards, and providing technical guidance to staff.
Liaises with the Information Technology Services group on matters related to all supported apps and Infrastructure Management Systems.
Requirements
Degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
At least three years’ experience supporting clients in a Public Works CMMS.
Practiced knowledge of Asset management preferably in a Public Works environment.
Proficiency in SQL, relational databases, and experience with specific EAM/CMMS platforms.
Proven use of IBM – Maximo Application.
Interpret and evaluate information to improve existing programs or to develop new approaches or processes.
Business intelligence (BI) tools and software to create reports and data visualizations that guide business decisions.
Maintenance of Reports built in Crystal 9 environment.
Excellent communication (verbal and written)
Requires developed communication skills, ability to provide communication support for internal and external clients, at all levels of support.
