Own execution across the full development lifecycle, balancing technical excellence, delivery speed, and operational stability.
Partner with Product/Architecture/Infra-Operations to translate business and security requirements into clear technical plans, milestones, and outcomes.
Ensure engineering best practices are consistently applied, including code quality, testing, documentation, and secure development standards.
Serve as the primary people leader for your team(s), with full accountability for performance, engagement, and growth.
Establish and maintain clear role expectations, performance standards, and success metrics across engineering projects.
Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and feedback cycles focused on both results and professional development.
Identify skill gaps, succession risks, and growth opportunities, and proactively address them through coaching, training, or hiring.
Support recruiting efforts by defining role requirements, participating in interviews, and ensuring strong hiring decisions aligned with DataStealth’s standards and culture.
Drive effective onboarding and ramp-up processes to ensure new engineers become productive quickly and consistently.
Allocate engineering resources across projects/teams based on company priorities, skills, and capacity, adjusting as business needs evolve.
Identify delivery risks related to staffing, workload, or burnout, and proactively address them.
Partner with leadership to forecast hiring needs and support scalable team growth.
Build and reinforce a culture of accountability, ownership, continuous improvement, and engineering excellence.
Champion modern engineering and people-management best practices suitable for a fast-growing software startup.
Promote collaboration and open communication across teams.
Continuously assess and improve engineering processes, tooling, and team workflows.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred
Proven experience (minimum 4 years) in a software engineering people leadership role, having led at least 2 small teams with 4-8 members on each
Expertise in clean, efficient and structured programming for top-notch performance with a track record of successfully delivering complex software projects
Strong technical background in software development, with proficiency in languages such as Java, Python, Node.js, etc.
Experience with Agile methodologies, DevOps practices, and CI/CD pipelines
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team towards achieving common goals
Experience working in the cybersecurity or data security industry is a plus.
