Role Overview
- Define end-to-end platform strategy (ingestion, storage, query performance)
- Set customer-centric principles for scale, reliability, and consistency
- Own real-world deployment of guardsix SIEM
- Define reference architectures (enterprise, distributed, high-scale)
- Set standards for sizing, performance, and scaling
- Align product design with real-world constraints
- Create playbooks, best practices, and deployment standards
- Define “what good looks like” in production
- Turn field learnings into product and guidance improvements
- Establish end-to-end data observability (pipeline health, schema, visibility)
- Define and track SLOs (ingestion, query, data integrity)
- Ensure predictable behavior under real workloads
- Own search, query, and data exploration experience
- Drive data enrichment and transformation capabilities
- Define scaling across customers and high-ingestion scenarios
- Manage trade-offs (performance vs cost, flexibility vs standardization)
- Ensure performance and reliability at scale
- Prioritize stability over feature velocity
- Treat data loss, ingestion failures, and inconsistencies as critical
- Drive continuous quality improvements
Requirements
- Deep experience in data platforms / data infrastructure
- Deep experience in log management / observability platforms
- Deep experience in large-scale ingestion or analytics systems
- Strong understanding of data pipelines (batch and streaming)
- Strong understanding of schema design and normalization
- Strong understanding of query performance and indexing
- Strong understanding of deployment patterns for distributed systems
- Experience defining or supporting real-world deployments at scale
- Understands infrastructure sizing and constraints
- Understands performance tuning in production
- Understands trade-offs between architecture and operational reality
- Comfortable working with field teams on deployment challenges
