Support the developer experience team on their journey to enhance the developer's experience by improving tooling, processes and automation in a practical, hands‑on way.
Research, troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure‑related issues across the full technology stack.
Support longer‑term platform and infrastructure initiatives that drive growth and technical maturity.
Maintain clear and well‑structured documentation for internal tools, systems and environments.
Assess and recommend new tools, technologies, and cloud services that can bring value to the business.
Work confidently across both application‑level and infrastructure‑level code where required.
Promote strong operational practices, focusing on performance, reliability, and security.
Collaborate closely with our Site Reliability team to support operational tasks and improvements.
Simplify systems and services by reducing complexity and helping to remove technical debt.
Communicate complex technical topics clearly and effectively to both technical and non‑technical colleagues.
Leverage Agile principles and best practices in day-to-day operations.
Requirements
Minimum of 4 years’ experience as a DevOps, Cloud Infrastructure, or similar engineering role.
Strong expertise in Linux command line and operating environments.
Hands‑on experience with provisioning and configuration management tools (e.g., Chef, Ansible, Puppet).
Solid understanding of infrastructure‑as‑code and orchestration tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
Exposure to CI/CD tooling, including building and maintaining pipelines.
Experience working with AWS, including multi‑region environments.
Good SQL knowledge, ideally with Percona clusters or Amazon RDS.
Experience supporting PHP and web application environments.
Familiarity with observability and monitoring platforms such as New Relic, Datadog or Dynatrace.
Ability to work across application and infrastructure codebases.
Strong communication skills, with excellent written and spoken English.
Comfortable working independently or collaboratively as part of a wider engineering team.
Able to work under pressure while maintaining a high level of reliability and operational discipline.
Experience using and tweaking LLMs for internal usage through vendor pipelines, for example, AWS Bedrock or equivalent.
Ability to define, improve and follow a metric-driven change approach, setting yourself and the organisation for long-term success.
