As Director General, you are responsible for the day-to-day management of Comensia under the authority of the Board of Directors.
You are the strategic and operational leader of the organisation, ensuring the successful implementation of the strategic plan, the management contract with the SLRB, and compliance with regulatory frameworks.
You bring teams together around a shared vision, promote cooperative values, and ensure a balance between performance, social impact and employee well-being.
Define and implement the overall strategy (financial, asset, social and organisational).
Develop and monitor the five-year strategic plan.
Report to the Board of Directors, the General Assembly and the SLRB.
Ensure exemplary governance and regulatory compliance.
Lead and coordinate the Executive Committee.
Supervise and support branch directors and support service functions.
Foster a collaborative, empowering and caring managerial culture.
Safeguard workplace climate, skills development and team well-being.
Supervise budgets, annual accounts and financial balances.
Ensure financial transparency and cost control.
Oversee internal organisation (HR, finance, public procurement, ICT).
Ensure social dialogue and chair joint bodies (Works Council, Joint Prevention and Protection Committee
CPPT).
Oversee maintenance, renovation and compliance upgrades of the housing stock.
Lead construction projects and property development initiatives.
Integrate sustainability, energy performance and innovation considerations.
Place the social mission at the heart of the strategy.
Encourage tenant participation and cooperative dynamics.
Support social and community projects that respond to local needs.
Represent Comensia with regional, municipal and sectoral authorities.
Actively contribute to strategic reflection on social housing in Brussels.
Promote Comensia’s image and values with partners and the general public.
Requirements
University degree (Master’s) or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 8–10 years’ proven experience in a senior management role.
Strong knowledge of social housing, the social economy and/or property management.
Proven skills in management, finance, HR, public governance and public procurement.
Excellent command of French and a good knowledge of Dutch.
Unifying leadership, strategic vision, political acumen and decisiveness.
