Process and manage vendor invoices in the accounting system, ensuring accurate coding, approvals, and maintenance of supporting documentation.
Oversee Accounts Payable invoices, verify accuracy, match to purchase orders and receiving documents, and follow up on approval requirements.
Ensure expenses are charged to the appropriate cost centers and departments in line with budgets and rolling forecasts.
Prepare month-end accruals, reclassifications, and support the month-end close process.
Maintain prepaid expense schedules and perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
Assist with the creation and processing of purchase orders for various departments.
Process employee expense reports, prepaid expenses, cash receipts, deposits, and weekly payment runs (EFTs, wires, bill payments, and cheques).
Manage Accounts Receivable, including invoicing, monitoring balances, and supporting timely collections.
Monitor AP and AR accounts to ensure payments and collections remain current.
Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and investigate and resolve discrepancies.
Assist with payroll processing, payroll reconciliations, and fixed asset accounting, including asset setup and depreciation.
Maintain organized accounting records to support audits and internal controls.
Prepare and remit HST, source deductions, and assist with corporate tax requirements.
Provide internal and external customer service to employees, vendors, and customers.
Support ad hoc projects and perform other accounting duties as required.
Requirements
1–3 years of experience in a similar accounting or finance role.
Proficiency with Great Plains (or similar accounting software), Microsoft Office, and SAP Concur.
Strong computer skills with the ability to quickly adapt to new accounting systems and technologies.
Solid understanding of basic accounting principles.
Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
High attention to detail with the ability to identify errors and discrepancies.
Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a team.
