Simulate and design of active and passive photonic integrated components and circuits
Drive the development of new products and technologies as well as projects with customers
Closely collaborate with the R&D and product development team to bring new products to the market
Translate device operational specifications into mask layouts
Drive tape out activities, including layout verification, DRC/LVS checks, and documentation
Analyze and interpret measurement data, comparing experimental results with simulations to optimize device performance
Contribute to software development and maintenance for simulation tools and mask layout tools, including PDK
Requirements
Master’s degree or higher in engineering, physics, or similar
2+ years of industry experience in high-tech engineering environment
In-depth experience and expertise in at least three of the following: Photonic electromagnetic field simulations, RF PCB design and RF electromagnetic field simulation, Code-based mask layout design for photonic IC’s, experience in working with external PDKs, libraries, and DRC is a plus.
In-depth know-how of PIC design, fabrication and testing processes
Strong background in optical communications or high-frequency electrical or electro-optical characterization (>40 GHz)
Demonstrable software development skills, preferably Python, with experience in collaborative code maintenance
Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously with proven success in meeting deadlines.
