Independently provide data and perform actuarial calculations related to product development, benefits, provider reimbursement, stop loss, health management, disease management, pharmacy programs, premium rates, reserves, and administrative costs.
Monitor data from internal departments, review it for content and accuracy, and identify associated problems.
Produce various analytical reports that monitor utilization and cost trends, revenue, claims liability, membership, administrative costs, and provider reimbursement and performance as requested by both internal and external customers.
Develop and maintain computer programs to support various analyses, processes, and reports.
Consult with internal and external customers to assess scope and complexity of projects.
Complete projects accurately and efficiently, within preset timelines, and regularly report status to supervisor and outcomes to customer.
Prepare written documentation on all projects to provide a peer review trail and ensure continuity and integrity of position responsibilities.
Present findings as needed to multiple levels of internal and client leadership.
May assist in the training of entry level analysts.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field, or (4) years of work experience.
(2) years of actuarial analysis experience.
Intermediate knowledge of SQL or other data querying tools.
Knowledge of Python or another computer language.
Knowledge of health insurance concepts and terms.
Experience in health insurance and/or an actuarial department.
Proficient in Tableau and visual storytelling.
Experienced in automation of codes and procedures.
Participant in an actuarial student program.
Strong project management to include time management and multi-tasking.
Proficiency in a computer programming language and aptitude to learn from others.
Proficient with standard Microsoft Office products.
Strong analytic, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills.
Effective oral and written communication skills
