Delivering medium and low voltage electrical design solutions for outdoor and unit substations, power transformers, protection and control schemes, and related EPC projects in both brownfield and greenfield environments.
Developing equipment specifications, reviewing field data, and performing system studies including coordination, short circuit, and arc flash analysis.
Collaborating with CAD staff to produce and update electrical drawings, and providing technical recommendations based on power monitoring data.
Acting as a Qualus representative, supporting sales during customer site walks and leading cross-functional interactions to ensure optimal project outcomes.
Resource planning, project kickoff participation, adherence to safety standards, accurate documentation for invoicing, and coordination with suppliers to meet material and equipment requirements.
Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical engineering or related from an ABET accredited institution, preferred with a focus on power systems.
Professional Engineering (P.E.) License preferred.
5+ years of design engineering experience on primary power distribution, P&C schemes, and/or electrical equipment.
Experience developing relay protective setpoints and settings files.
Working knowledge of NEC/NFPA 70, ANSI C57, ANSI C37, and NESC, and other applicable codes and standards in the design of substations and industrial power distribution.
2-5 years of AutoCAD experience.
2-5 years using power systems modeling software such as ETAP, SKM, and/or EasyPower.
Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively discuss technical recommendations with customers.
Ability to work independently, accurately, and with a high attention to detail.
