Identify the appropriate end-to-end solution portfolio, considering all relevant ICT solutions and service offerings such as best practices
Identify solution gaps and develop gap closure options
Architect the end-to-end functional landscape and solution design to support desired business processes and business/ICT requirements of the customer
Design robust and reusable architectures to support the deployment of greenfield and brownfield cloud platforms in either Azure or AWS
Provide technical guidance, documentation, and training to teams on best practices for both Azure and AWS environments
Document, present and discuss the end-to-end architecture and solution options
Identify cross-process and cross-solution integration points and lead the coordination across various software and service components of the end-to-end solution
Lead end-to-end solution analysis, design, integration, architecture, co-existence and migration
Ensure work aligns with business processes and overall delivery outcomes
Act as single point of contact to orchestrate the various parties involved in large and complex projects/programs from a primarily architecture/technical perspective
Drive innovation, continuous improvement and manage and lead change
Proactively share knowledge and expertise as the subject matter expert
Oversee and prepare a range of architecture documentation and reports
Collaborate with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders to achieve project outcomes
Resolve very complex, sensitive and/or escalated technical issues
Requirements
5+ years of hands-on experience as a Cloud Architect
Expertise in architecting greenfield and brownfield setups in either Azure OR AWS public clouds
Strong knowledge of networking in either or both platforms: Azure (VNets, peering, NSGs, routing) and/or AWS (VPCs, subnets, security groups, NAT gateways), including hybrid connectivity
Experience in governance and security: Implementing policies, guardrails, RBAC/IAM, and tools like Azure Security Center or AWS Security Hub
Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Azure DevOps, AWS CodePipeline), and scripting (PowerShell, Python, Bash)
Understanding of Australian government cloud requirements, including data sovereignty, security classifications, and regulatory compliance
Proven ability to articulate technical concepts clearly and facilitate discussions that drive consensus on ensuring alignment with project and organisational goals
Understanding of architecture principles, and enterprise technologies
