Accurately inputs patient, insurance, and prescription information into the pharmacy system.
Answers incoming calls and assists callers with non-clinical inquiries.
Resolves and ensures proper adjudication of claims.
Confirm patient benefits with insurance and determine required authorizations to assist the patient with coverage of therapy prescribed.
Responsible for answering in-bound calls and assisting customers with pharmacy related services.
Obtain client information by answering telephone calls; interviewing clients; verifying information.
Contact patients to schedule medication deliveries and verify correct address information.
Maintains new and existing patient profiles and enters new prescriptions into patient profiles.
Escalates calls to pharmacist for clinical inquiries and escalates grievances to supervisor.
Requirements
High School diploma or GED required.
License Mass Registered Pharmacy Tech required.
1-3 years related work experience required.
Previous data entry experience (minimum three months).
Experience with computer systems required, including web based applications and some Microsoft Office applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access.
