We are seeking a Data Analyst to build and own Scompler’s data function from the ground up.
You will consolidate the data we already have on product, sales and customer success into a single coherent foundation — and turn it into insights that enable better decisions across the company.
This role acts as an internal data service: cross-functional in scope, outcome-oriented in execution, and strategic in focus.
You will not only analyze existing data but also help build the integration and reporting layer that turns data into a real asset for Scompler.
You will work closely with our engineering team on infrastructure and with Product Leadership on strategic priorities.
Your mission: transform Scompler from a data-rich company into a data-driven one.
Connect product usage data, commercial data and qualitative signals into a single reliable source.
Ensure that this data is accessible, trustworthy and actionable for every team at the right time.
In your first year, success means: auditing our current data landscape and tools, understanding the key business questions of all departments, building reporting for central requirements, and creating a roadmap for the data infrastructure we will need going forward.
Consolidate data from product, commercial and customer-facing sources into an integrated, reliable foundation.
Evaluate and recommend BI tools that fit our stage and enable a self-service approach across teams.
Improve event-tracking quality in the product together with engineering to ensure clean, structured and reliable usage data.
Build churn intelligence: identify behavioral patterns in churned accounts and translate them into early-warning signals that enable proactive customer outreach.
Develop product analytics that correlate feature adoption with retention and expansion outcomes — replace proxy metrics with evidence-based prioritization.
Create commercial intelligence by combining product usage and commercial data to segment the customer base by maturity, industry and use case — e.g., to uncover market potential.
Own the data layer for Customer Health and QBRs: provide a shared, reliable account-level view.
Manage a transparent backlog of data requests from all departments — prioritize them according to company goals and deliver clear outcomes.
Advise teams on how to frame questions for data, interpret results correctly and draw sound conclusions.
Promote data literacy across the company together with the leadership team: define common metric definitions, document logic and establish a self-service approach so standard questions can be answered without your help.
Contribute to reproducible reporting views for GM, investor and financial reporting.
Requirements
5+ years of experience as a Data Analyst, Analytics Engineer or in a comparable role in a SaaS or B2B product environment.
Strong SQL skills and experience working with real-world, unstructured data from multiple sources.
Hands-on experience with BI tools (e.g., Looker Studio, Metabase, Power BI or similar) and the judgment to select the right tool.
Experience integrating data from CRM systems (ideally HubSpot) and product event tracking into a unified analytical foundation.
Comfortable with data infrastructure and analysis — you don’t need to own the entire stack, but you can navigate it and collaborate effectively with engineering.
Proven experience collaborating cross-functionally with Product, Customer Success, Sales and Leadership — you translate business questions into data problems and back again.
Strong communication skills: you can explain data to people who don’t live in spreadsheets.
Structured, pragmatic working style: you know when a clean dashboard delivers more value than a perfect model.
Ambition to grow — you see this as a career-defining opportunity, not just a job.
Fluent in English; German language skills are a plus.
