Research, write and edit technical documents, such as program plans, plan amendments, producer guidance documents, and other related materials.
Transform complex information from subject matter experts into clear, concise and user-friendly documentation.
Ensure a consistent voice and adherence to CAA's style guide and templates across all materials, making necessary adjustments to maintain consistency.
Collaborate effectively with subject matter experts (e.g., program managers, legal counsel, operations staff) to gather necessary information.
Synthesize and incorporate feedback from diverse stakeholders, maintaining document accuracy and consistency.
Participate in document reviews and provide constructive feedback on others' work.
Ensure consistency, clarity, and alignment of documentation with regulatory standards and company branding.
Maintain version control and document management systems (e.g., Teams/SharePoint).
Actively utilize generative AI tools to assist with content generation, summarization of complex legal or regulatory texts, drafting initial document outlines, and identifying key information for documentation.
Evaluate and implement best practices for integrating generative AI into the technical writing workflow to improve speed and quality.
Utilize advanced Microsoft Word features, including styles, table of contents generation, cross-referencing, master documents, and templates, to create professional and easily navigable documents.
Continuously evaluate and improve documentation templates to streamline the writing and publishing process.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, Communications, Environmental Studies, Law, or a related field.
5+ years of experience as a technical writer, preferably in a regulatory, environmental compliance, or legal setting.
Strong understanding of EPR frameworks and sustainability regulations.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and Adobe InDesign with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word.
Familiarity with style guides (e.g., AP Style, Chicago Manual of Style) and the ability to consistently apply them.
Must possess or be able to obtain a valid Driver's License with clean driving history.
