Provide professional photographic acquisition through the utilization of Nikon D6 and Z9 digital cameras, Nikon camera systems, Hasselblad H2D digital cameras, and video acquisition using Nikon Z9, Canon XF705 and GoPro Hero cameras.
Provide capture of 360-degree panoramic, spherical, virtual reality imagery and object rotary capture.
Provide photo instrumentation through the use of various high speed/time-lapse camera systems including Vision Research Phantom and Miro series high-speed digital motion picture cameras and timing systems.
Additional duties include working with Speedotron Black Line lighting systems, Nikon Speedlights, Arri Lights, Nila LED lights, Lite Panel LED lights and various continuous source lights and lighting accessories.
Responsibilities include providing photography and lighting for education events, engineering documentation, hardware documentation and individual portraits and assisting astronaut crew portraits.
This includes providing coverage of award ceremonies and NASA special events.
Responsibilities include working with video cameras and providing video shoots of meetings and engineering activities.
Additional responsibilities include working with imaging workstation computers, laptops, Windows 10 Enterprise, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Bridge, Adobe Lightroom, Hasselblad Phocus, Photo Mechanic and other image related software.
Photographer will work under various conditions, including in the studio, in engineering labs, outdoors on remote field locations, in other NASA vehicles and locations.
Photographer will work in a team environment with NASA photographers, engineers, researchers, astronauts, video & photo lab personnel and video editors.
Responsibilities include assisting other photographers, contributing to team projects, assisting with office duties including project planning, scheduling, equipment maintenance and inventory.
Requirements
Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree in photography/video or related imaging field from an accredited University or Technical Institute.
Education should include photography, use of computers for photographic applications, portraiture, creative photography.
Knowledge of mirrorless and medium format digital cameras, high-definition video cameras, digital video recorders, audio, 360VR, high-speed cameras, light meters, color temperature meters, motion control systems, remote control systems, video encoders, flash lighting systems and continuous source lights is desired.
Knowledge and comfort with Excel and other Microsoft tools such as Outlook & Teams is a must as well as the ability to work solo much of the time and be a self-starter.
Attention to detail, critical thinking, and a willingness to ask questions are all necessary for success in this project.
Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, OneNote, One Drive), SharePoint, and Box.
Must be a U.S. citizen.
Must be able to pass a National Agency Check (NAC) security clearance.
Must be able to physically lift and/or carry 30lbs. of equipment on a regular basis and work in extreme environments.
