Role Overview
- Join a diverse and experienced team of structural and mechanical engineers delivering high quality structural consultancy services to a wide range of clients.
- Contribute to the delivery of technical work and project activities, while also supporting and mentoring less experienced colleagues as you progress.
- Support the delivery of structural analyses in line with international codes and standards, ensuring quality, timeliness, and cost efficiency.
- Gain exposure to project management and commercial activities, including supporting and leading technical proposal development:
- Linear and non-linear structural analyses
- Detailed finite element analysis (FEA)
- Fatigue and Fracture mechanics assessments
- Risk based inspection (RBI) planning and management
- General structural engineering assessments
- Assessment of fixed jackets and topsides
- Modelling, hydrodynamic and structural assessment of floating structures
- Assessment of helideck structure
- Blast analysis
- Passive Fire Protection (PFP) optimisation studies
Requirements
- Minimum 2:1 Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Structural Engineering
- Passion for developing your skills both professionally and personally, including the commitment to complete the appropriate professional registration in your field (Chartership)
- Excellent numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills along with ability to produce clear and concise technical reports for our customers
- Motivation to contribute to the energy transition, including the repurposing of existing infrastructure
- Pro-active willingness to learn new skills, displaying a willingness to ’get stuck in’ and undertake work outside your ‘comfort zone’, demonstrating appropriate balance between asking for help and using own initiative / thinking through the problem
- Excellent interpersonal and team working skills, confident in building professional relationships and demonstrating first class written, verbal communication and presentation skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to plan and prioritise own time and activities, to meet deadlines and achieve project objectives
We would also hope that you would possess an interest and developed some understanding in some of the following technical areas as part of your studies:
- Data analysis, finite element modelling, including hydrodynamic analysis
- Familiarity with DNV SESAM/USFOS and/or Abaqus is preferred; experience with similar analysis tools is also valuable
- Understanding of fixed and floating structures, stress analysis, materials behaviour, or structural mechanics
