Responsible for defining, deploying, and sustaining quality engineering and assurance processes across the product lifecycle
Leads the implementation of core quality engineering tools—including Design and Process FMEA, Process Control Plans, MSA, and SPC
Defines the governing processes, standards, and documentation required to deploy these methodologies consistently across Air-Insulated Switchgears/High Voltage circuit-breakers (AIS) & Power Quality Products (PQP) Portfolio manufacturing sites
Lead and ensure completion of all NPI Quality deliverables in line with the Confluence NPI process and checklists
Serves as a Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and problem-solving coach
Leads the investigation, Structured root cause analysis and resolution of complex quality and product failures
Delivering robust corrective and preventive actions
Lead and resolves Air-Insulated Switchgears/ High Voltage circuit breakers (AIS) , Instrument current transformers & Power Quality Products (PQP) which do not meet first pass yield (FPY) targets
Define and lead the systematic integration of lessons learned from Field performance, Root causes analysis and corrective actions & preventive actions for quality, technical issues and associated quality nonconformities from customer sites and at the manufacturing lines/routine test beds
Drive high-impact Quality Kaizen initiatives across plants by leading and enabling plant quality teams
Implement structured manufacturing process audits across plants to identify gaps and enhance product quality
Defines and deploys “Quality Built-In” strategies
Provides strong quality leadership for Transfer of Work (TOW) projects, ensuring quality is planned and achieved in assurance mode.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or electrical engineering
Minimum 15 years of experience in the AIS high-voltage Circuit-breakers and/or Instrument transformer Industry
In-depth knowledge of high-voltage air-insulated circuit breakers, Instrument transformers
Experience in power quality experience is a plus
Expert in diagnosing mechanical, insulation failures and application failures
Proven ability to lead field investigations and drive effective corrective actions
Skilled in interpreting/Classify PD patterns and Identify root causes in high-voltage AIS instrument transformers
Guides plant quality teams in PD analysis, troubleshooting, and implementing corrective actions
Expert in core quality tools, including FMEA (Design & Process), measurement system analysis (MSA), and process control plans, with track record of coaching teams
Skilled at identifying Critical-to-Quality (CTQ) characteristics and implementing both prevention and detection controls
Applies statistical process control (SPC), capability analysis, and data-driven decision-making to reduce process variation
Demonstrates proven success in quality problem solving, utilizing methodologies such as 8D, A3, why-why, Fault tree and root cause analysis to prevent recurrence
The candidate must be a certified Root Cause Analysis (RCA) coach, with proven experience in facilitating structured problem-solving sessions
Extensive experience and expertise in driving high-impact Quality Kaizen initiatives to deliver sustained product quality improvements
Extensive experience and expertise in conducting in-depth manufacturing process audits and ISO 9001 system audits.
