About this role
Role Overview
The Area Sales Manager plans, leads, organizes, and controls the activities of the assigned sales representatives within a specified area.
Supports and enables the sales representatives by providing objectives, training, and direction.
Provides customer service strategy and support for area and implements marketing initiatives.
Analyzes and assesses market conditions and implements marketing initiatives.
Analyzes and prepares sales forecasts and reports.
Collaborates with sales force in setting and achieving short and long-term sales goals.
Identifies critical skills for sales force and assesses and assigns sales territories.
Reviews and audits expense reports.
Prepares and administers sales budget.
Accountable for territory profit margin and sales growth goals achieved through training and coaching sales force.
Hires, trains, assesses, and evaluates staff performance.
Coaches and directs the activities of the work group.
Obtains and allocates resources as required.
Interacts with other department heads and sales force to assure quality service levels.
Identifies new sourcing opportunities and maintains current customer service levels.
Coordinates special events, develops marketing tools, and assists the Division Vice President.
Requirements
Typically requires a bachelor's degree
five (5) to seven (7) years of experience in industrial sales
three (3) years of management experience
Experience in fluid power systems, applications, and design
