Role Overview
- Serve as the primary technical authority for the Dell ECS infrastructure.
- Perform proactive health checks, capacity planning, and performance tuning of the ECS cluster.
- Manage the lifecycle of the platform, including software upgrades, firmware updates, and hardware replacement coordination.
- Monitor system alerts, logs, and metrics to prevent downtime and resolve incidents within agreed SLAs.
- Provide Level 2/3 escalation support for storage-related incidents.
- Troubleshoot complex issues involving object storage (S3, Atmos, Swift), replication groups, and data access latency.
- Coordinate with Dell ECS Global Support and internal engineering teams for root cause analysis (RCA) and hardware failures.
- Advise the customer on best practices for bucket policies, access controls (IAM), and data protection (replication, geo-protection).
- Assist application owners (SAP, Veeam, Commvault, or custom DevOps teams) with integrating S3-compatible applications with the ECS platform.
- Conduct regular architecture reviews to ensure scalability aligns with business growth.
- Maintain detailed documentation of the environment, including configuration changes, network topology, and SOPs.
- Conduct training sessions and workshops for the customer’s internal IT staff to enhance their operational capabilities.
Requirements
- Dell ECS: 3+ years of hands-on experience with Dell ECS (Elastic Cloud Storage) administration. Must have deep knowledge of:
- ECS software upgrades and node replacement.
- Object storage protocols (S3, Atmos, Swift).
- Replication groups, namespace management, and data lifecycle policies.
- ECS GeoDrive and CAS (Centera) migration experience is a plus.
- Storage & Virtualization: Strong understanding of underlying infrastructure (PowerEdge servers, Networking switches, Data Domain integration).
- Linux Administration: Proficiency in Linux (RHEL/CentOS) command line for debugging and log analysis.
- Scripting: Experience with Python, Bash, or Ansible for automation of storage tasks and reporting.
- Residency Mindset: Proven experience working embedded within a customer team; ability to manage stakeholder expectations professionally.
- Communication: Fluent English (C1 level required). Polish language proficiency is highly advantageous for client-facing interactions.
- Analytical Thinking: Exceptional problem-solving skills under pressure.
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
- Dell ECS Certification (e.g., Dell EMC Proven Professional Specialist – ECS) is highly preferred.
- ITIL Foundation certification is a plus.
