Conduct ship checks on U.S. Navy submarines to collect field data and verify configurations
Research submarine construction using drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
Collaborate with Mechanical Engineers to create 3D solid models for mechanical designs
Develop 2D mechanical component and assembly-level drawings
Develop, update, and maintain Lists of Material (LOM)
Apply mechanical drafting principles and engineering concepts for design solutions
Implement GD&T practices per ASME Y14.5 standards
Perform self-checks of drawings/models for accuracy and compliance
Conduct quality assurance reviews of junior personnel work
Participate in internal design reviews, incorporate review comments into drawings
Maintain organized electronic design files, adhere to configuration management
Communicate design intent and task requirements with team members
Track tasks and meet schedule-driven deliverables

Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Clearance
U.S. Citizenship required
High School Diploma or GED plus a CAD/Drafting Certificate
5 years minimum business-related experience in 2D and 3D CAD software
Developed understanding of mechanical drafting principles, manufacturing processes, and drawing conventions
Ability to read and interpret engineering sketches, specifications, and technical drawings
Experience with Autodesk AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor preferred, SOLIDWORKS experience acceptable
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Adobe PDF tools
Physically capable of conducting ship checks aboard U.S. Navy submarines
Comfortable working in confined spaces, ability to climb ladders from 20-25 feet unassisted
