Lead the planning, development, and execution of multiple capital construction projects simultaneously.
Develop, review, and manage approved project scopes, schedules, cost estimates, and budgets.
Coordinate contractor bidding, selection, and contract execution.
Maintain accurate construction records and databases for active and completed projects.
Conduct inspections and oversee construction activities to ensure work meets approved plans, specifications, and quality standards.
Monitor job sites to ensure safe construction practices are followed, work aligns with project schedules, and contractors meet contractual scope and quality requirements.
Manage change orders and resolve construction issues to minimize schedule and cost impacts.
Ensure projects comply with CHS standards, local building codes, and regulatory requirements.
Lead and coordinate engineering and safety resources across civil, mechanical, structural, electrical and equipment specifications.
Collaborate with engineers, manufacturers, vendors, utilities and local officials.
Provide technical insight to challenge designs, recommend alternatives, and improve building processes.
Lead compliance efforts related to CHS Environmental, Health & Safety standards.
Identify and communicate site hazards and address unsafe conditions.
Negotiate pricing, equipment discounts, and service terms.
Requirements
High School diploma or GED.
7+ years of experience in construction or agricultural industries with demonstrated project leadership responsibility.
Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering, or Construction Management.
Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and equipment used in commercial and industrial facilities
Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously with complex stakeholder groups
Understanding of OSHA 1910, OSHA 1926, and NFPA standards
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and CAD software
OSHA 20-hour certification
Experience in grain, agronomy, energy, or manufacturing facility construction
Prior experience as an engineer, architect, or construction manager in large, multi-site operations
