Role Overview
- Performs forensic assignments within the field of mechanical engineering expertise based on a scope of work and budget prepared by the consultant and agreed upon by the client
- Investigates how and why an incident occurred and determines whether it was a result of mechanical failure of equipment
- Inspects sites/products/equipment; performs analysis of commercial and non-commercial equipment; determines cause and origin of damage; performs mechanical engineering analysis and calculations; prepares sketches as required
- Prepares oral and written reports to document analysis, extent of loss, associated repair scope, and/or recommended remediation steps
- Provides expert testimony in deposition and trial as required
- Manages multiple projects and works with other experts as needed
Requirements
- B.S. Mechanical or Agricultural Engineering degree or equivalent from an accredited program
- F.E. exam completed
- P.E. licensure or ability to complete PE license within one year
- Minimum 5 years of experience, including knowledge of machinery and equipment
- Valid driver’s license and reliable form of transportation required
