Performs forensic assignments within the field of mechanical engineering expertise based on a scope of work and budget prepared by the consultant and agreed upon by the client
Investigates how and why an incident occurred and determines whether it was a result of mechanical failure of equipment
Inspects sites/products/equipment; performs analysis of commercial and non-commercial equipment; determines cause and origin of damage; performs mechanical engineering analysis and calculations; prepares sketches as required
Prepares oral and written reports to document analysis, extent of loss, associated repair scope, and/or recommended remediation steps
Provides expert testimony in deposition and trial as required
Manages multiple projects and works with other experts as needed
Requirements
B.S. Mechanical or Agricultural Engineering degree or equivalent from an accredited program
F.E. exam completed
P.E. licensure or ability to complete PE license within one year
Minimum 5 years of experience, including knowledge of machinery and equipment
Valid driver’s license and reliable form of transportation required
