Provide strategic leadership and oversight for genetic counselors and genetic counselor assistants to ensure alignment with departmental and organizational goals.
Design, implement, and continuously improve clinical support workflows, systems, and technologies to enhance case management efficiency and customer experience.
Define, monitor, and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive performance improvement and support data-informed leadership decision-making.
Lead talent development initiatives, including recruitment, mentoring, performance management, and succession planning, to build a scalable and high-performing team.
Serve as the clinical subject matter expert for products and services, providing guidance on high-complexity cases and supporting operational decision-making.
Collaborate cross-functionally with laboratory operations, medical affairs, commercial teams, and IT to ensure integrated and effective clinical support services.
Lead change management efforts for new service launches and process transformations to ensure clinical support readiness and adoption.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, documentation standards, and internal quality metrics to mitigate risk and support operational integrity.
Perform other duties as assigned to support team and organizational objectives.
Requirements
Master of Science or Master of Arts in Genetic Counseling from an ACGC-accredited program or equivalent.
Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, preferably within a commercial laboratory environment.
Minimum of 5 years of supervisory or management experience.
Board-certified Genetic Counselor.
Demonstrated expertise in clinical and laboratory genetics, team leadership, and operational performance management.
Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
