Register, correct, and amend vital records
Issue certified birth and death certificates
Provide expert guidance to community partners and stakeholders
Protect public health by maintaining record security
Monitor mortality trends
Ensure compliance with financial policies, Arizona State Statutes, and federal requirements

Two years of office, administrative, or clerical experience
High school diploma or GED
Must be fluent in English and Spanish
Post-secondary education may substitute for the experience requirement on a year-for-year basis
Must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Arizona driver's license by the time of hire
Must secure and maintain an Arizona Department of Public Safety Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card and complete a background check
Required immunizations include MMR, Tdap, Varicella, and annual Influenza; some positions may require a Hepatitis B vaccine and/or a Tuberculosis test
