Responsible for the new-make manufacture of combustors and structures parts across GE Aerospace's engine lines in GE and non-GE Shops.
Solving manufacturing and producibility challenges while driving excellence through engineering and leadership characteristics.
Producibility design changes, ongoing manufacturing support, cost outs and strategic improvements on production related processes for the assigned commodity.
Collaborate with engineers from multiple disciplines, manufacturing, and quality, and regularly communicate with commodity and industry experts while promoting open and honest dialogue.
Execute engineering analysis and evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles to improve manufacturability and technical robustness of assigned components.
Develop in-depth knowledge of engineering & manufacturing.
Utilize analytical thinking and technical experience to execute on projects to meet requirements and business goals under mentorship of senior engineers.
Lead technical projects with moderate complexity through collaboration with field and industry experts.
Provide support for vendor qualification, producibility improvements, and hardware delivery.
Provide guidance to less experienced team members.
Requirements
Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a closely related engineering field.
Minimum 10 years of experience in a relevant engineering role.
Previous experience in design of aerospace components.
Previous experience in manufacturing, especially of aerospace components.
Flexible and friendly approach to working in teams.
Experience with ANSYS and NX.
Certification in ASME Y14.5 or practical experience with GD&T.
Interest in being a self-starter with a passion for problem solving and driving solutions.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Ability to document, plan, and execute programs.
Established project management skills.
Fundamental understanding of turbomachinery system design.
