Responsible for the successful management of Engineering and Operations (E&O)
Managing construction projects and studies by directing the Planning, Design & Construction team
Directing projects from initial concept and scope through planning, design, construction, and project close-out for all construction and remodel projects at UAMS
Leadership, oversight and strategic planning of 6 direct reports and 115 indirect reports
Ensuring sustainable maintenance and operations of HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC Controls, Fire Alarm Systems, Preventative Maintenance, General Maintenance, Plant Operations, Grounds, Energy Management, services for medical equipment and Minor Renovation and Construction Projects
Providing leadership and guidance during all phases of project development and construction
Reporting directly to the Vice Chancellor for Institutional Support Services
Leading UAMS’s work in all areas of sustainable operations and building on current position as a national leader in energy efficiency
Working with internal staff and consultants to achieve stated energy savings goals
Leading a team responsible for reporting UAMS’s decarbonization commitments with US Department of Health and Human Services, National Academy of Medicine, and other sustainability metrics
Serving as Co-Chair of campus Sustainability Steering Committee and developing cross-functional programs to improve sustainability of UAMS operations across academic, research, and patient care missions
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in engineering or technical field.
12 years of healthcare leadership experience including 7 years of supervisory experience.
If not already licensed/certified, must complete within 1 year of being hired: CHFM Certified Healthcare Construction (CHC)
Preferred: Master's degree in engineering, architecture, business, healthcare administration or environmental sciences.
