Manage trust tax accounts; ensuring accurate, timely processing across multiple tax returns and filings
Solve complex business issues from strategy to execution
Prepare 1041, 5227, and 990-series tax returns
Analyze and resolve all questions or problems that may arise associated with the returns and tax filings
Review trusts and private foundations quarterly to make the most tax beneficial estimated tax payments
Work with the FIS accounting system and OneSource tax software to manage tax processing and prepare tax returns and filings
Respond to correspondence from the Internal Revenue Service and various state tax authorities regarding issues or examinations arising from the preparation of tax returns or other tax filings
Develop and maintain procedures surrounding tax activities and controls to ensure compliance with corporate, regulatory, and audit requirements
Identify and address client needs, building a strong professional network and cordial relationships
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, or commensurate business experience
Typically, 5+ years of experience with US trust taxation
Rewarding experience in Form 1041 (Trust Returns), Estate Returns, Foundation Returns, Gift Tax Returns
Sound technical knowledge of US trust tax.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to handle high-volume workloads
Excellent organizational, communication, and documentation skills
Ability to work independently while supporting team and departmental objectives
Committed availability during tax seasons
Hands-on proficiency with OneSource tax accounting software (added bonus)
Experience at a Big Four accounting firm (added bonus)
