Coordinate with Lead Tax Administrator the tax portion of annual audit of financial statements and provide timely and accurate documentation necessary to complete the audit
Respond to client questions and requests
Perform review of income and excise tax provisions and quarterly, semiannual and annual tax disclosure for financial reports for assigned funds to ensure accuracy and proper disclosure
Perform final review of shareholder tax reporting disclosure for Form 1099
Preparation of tax filings (extensions, federal income and excise and State tax filings)
Preparation of supporting tax schedules to support income and excise tax filings
Preparation of other miscellaneous tax filings (IRS Forms SS 4, W 9, 1099 MISC, FinCEN Forms 114 and 114a, etc.)
Preparation of calendar year mutual fund tax information for shareholder tax reporting
Preparation of ASC 740 10 (Uncertain Tax Positions) documentation and ASC 740 (Accounting for Income Taxes) documentation and footnote
Calculation of periodic and annual income and capital gain distributions and review of dividend memos
Work with the mutual fund's independent auditors in their review of income and excise tax provisions and tax information for the mutual fund's financial statement reporting
Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Bachelor’s program in Accounting, Finance, or related field of study
Minimum of four (4) years of mutual fund tax administration or for corporate and/or partnership tax or public accounting experience
Master’s in Accounting or Tax OR CPA license (Bonus Points)
