Product and Regulatory Counsel

Role Overview

• Report to the Company’s VP, Associate Counsel & Assistant Secretary
• Provide legal guidance throughout the entire lifecycle of financial products
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and manage risk
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and marketing teams
• Represent Legal on cross-functional teams
• Review customer-facing materials for compliance
• Advise on regulatory matters and manage outside legal counsel
• Prepare legal documents including loan contracts and related documentation

Requirements

• Law degree and admitted to a state bar
• Familiarity with legal issues arising in consumer lending, bank sponsor programs, technology, and consumer protection
• At least 3 to 5 years of experience in the legal field
• Experience advising clients with respect to legal issues arising in consumer lending, technology, consumer protection, financial services and operations
• Ability to research laws and regulations
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Excellent analytical abilities, attention to detail, professional written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills required
• Ability to prioritize assignments, deal with interruptions, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced and growth oriented environment
• Ability to travel 0-5%
