About this role
Role Overview
Lead the sourcing function by supervising the purchasing team
Ensure the effective and uninterrupted supply of direct and indirect materials for both new and existing production lines
Build and stabilize material sourcing strategies and supplier networks to support production ramp-ups
Execute sourcing initiatives for new projects
Implement systems and controls that guarantee material availability, cost competitiveness, and compliance with quality and regulatory requirements
Monitor inventory levels, and resolve supply risks
Supervise and develop the purchasing team
Lead complex supplier and material change projects
Drive cost reduction initiatives through value analysis/value engineering (VA/VE) and supplier negotiations
Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, PD, R&D, Quality, Planning, Operations, and Customers
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree with a major in Engineering, finance, business administration
Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing companies
Minimum 3 years in manager position
Experience in medical companies
Excellent bilingual (English/Spanish) verbal and writing communication skills
Advanced computer proficiency
Proven experience supervising Engineering Level Professionals
Leading opportunities for continuous improvement and cost reduction
Strong understanding of cost modeling, supplier process controls, and advanced manufacturing technologies
Experience in managing budgets, expenses, CAPEX and inventory needs
Strong background in sourcing, supplier development, or supply chain engineering within manufacturing environments
Deep understanding of Manufacturing processes, variances and absorption
Proven experience monitoring Production plans and adjusting to changes
Able to operate and thrive under high levels of volume, change and uncertainty
Highly developed leadership competencies.
