Design and validate silicon photonics chips for high-speed optical transmitters and receivers, balancing performance, cost, and reliability requirements
Define photonic integrated circuit layouts (GDS) and collaborate with wafer fabrication partners for design verification, production, and delivery
Lead and contribute to photonic circuit design reviews prior to manufacturing
Support module prototyping, test definition, and transferring designs to high-volume production in partnership with operations and manufacturing teams
Drive continuous improvements in performance, yield, and reliability throughout the product lifecycle
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver prototypes and production products based on Ciena's silicon photonics platform
Monitor, document, and communicate technical progress while proactively identifying risks that may affect specifications, schedules, or budgets.
Requirements
Master's or Ph.D. in Optics, Physics, Engineering Physics, or a related discipline
At least 5 years of industry experience in silicon photonic integrated circuit design
Experience delivering silicon photonics products in production environments
Advanced proficiency with photonic and electronic design tools, including Cadence Virtuoso and Ansys Lumerical
Strong knowledge of passive and active photonic integrated circuit design principles
Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within multidisciplinary teams
Fluent written and spoken French and English.
