About this role
Role Overview
Identifying and evaluating automation opportunities within manufacturing processes
Assisting in developing and refining technical specifications for automation systems
Supporting the definition and validation of Critical-to-Process (CTP) parameters
Monitoring and analyzing key process parameters impacting production KPIs (e.g., yield, cycle time, uptime)
Collecting and analyzing data to drive process optimization and troubleshooting
Collaborating with maintenance and production teams to sustain and improve system performance
Designing and maintaining mechanical interfaces and fixturing for automation projects
Managing digital interfaces, data logging, and communication protocols for automation equipment
Working closely with the testing engineering team to integrate testing processes into automation projects
Documenting changes and contributing to lessons learned and best practices
Participating in cross-functional problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives
Engaging in lab-scale projects for processes that are challenging to automate
Contributing to experimental setup architecture and validating new concepts through testing
Requirements
Have a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, Software/Computer Engineering, or related field
Have 1–3 years of experience in manufacturing or automation (including internships or project work)
Have solid understanding of mechanical systems, instrumentation, and process control
Have ability to read and develop technical documentation and specifications
Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Have familiarity with CAD tools (NX preferred) and mechanical design principles
Have knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, and industrial communication protocols
Have basic programming skills and familiarity with industrial robots and PLC programming (Fanuc, Allen Bradley)
Have exposure to industrial automation systems (PLCs, sensors, actuators)
Have hands-on approach and willingness to work in both factory and lab environments
Have excellent oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal abilities, and leadership potential
Have ability to work independently and drive problem-solving initiatives.
