Provide essential financial and administrative support to college and department operations.
Ensure the accuracy, compliance, and effectiveness of financial processes.
Serve as a key resource for hourly student appointments.
Interpret university and college financial policies.
Manage account activity, and oversee a range of transactional functions including reconciliations, account setup and closure, and procurement card administration.
Monitor operating accounts, manage ELI awards, and collaborate with the Shared Services Center (SSC) to resolve financial issues.
Provide guidance to college and departmental staff, promoting best practices and ensuring the integrity of financial operations.
Requirements
Associate’s Degree and 2 to 4 years relevant work experience or equivalent combination.
Demonstrated ability to work individually and as part of a team, and to be resourceful and organized.
Capable of prioritizing tasks in a deadline-driven environment with particular attention to accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to cultivate and develop inclusive working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and community.
Familiarity with Cornell University administration, accounting, budget structure, procedures, and policies is a bonus.
Successful completion of Cornell Accounting Certification Program desirable, or completion within the first year on the job.
Excellent communication skills combined with diplomacy and tact in interacting with students, and towards building strong relationships with individuals at all levels internally and externally.
