About this role
Role Overview
- Holistic development of embedded systems including hardware and core software for microcontroller
- and microprocessor-based systems in the areas of defense, railway technology and industrial control systems
- Design and planning of system architectures, hardware concepts and interfaces, taking functional, organizational and economic requirements into account
- Development of embedded software (core software, applications and prototype software) as well as low-level tests for common microcontroller families
- Independent development and sizing of analog and digital circuits within a defined overall architecture
- Creation of EMC-compliant schematics and PCB layouts
- Description, specification and documentation of systems and software using UML and Structured Text, among other methods
- Definition and creation of test specifications as well as assembly, commissioning, optimization and verification of prototypes according to specification
- Execution and supervision of internal tests as well as tests carried out at external testing institutes
Requirements
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant professional experience in electrical engineering / electronics
- Solid experience in developing embedded systems with microcontrollers from various classes and manufacturers
- Very good knowledge of C and/or C++ for embedded software and low-level (hardware-near) programming
- Strong expertise in hardware development, particularly in the design and dimensioning of analog and digital circuits
- Sound understanding of control units and switching devices, microcontroller architectures and their system-level integration
- Experience in describing and modeling systems using UML or a comparable modeling language
- Very good knowledge of EMC-compliant design for electronic assemblies
- Confident use of at least one EDA tool, e.g., Altium Designer or comparable software
- Experience in creating test specifications and in conducting and supervising tests
- Experience working with testing institutes and certification authorities is desirable
- Very good German language skills, spoken and written (must-have)
- Good English skills
