Principal Piping Responsible Engineer

Role Overview

• Responsible for the management of Piping design and engineering aspects of the Programme
• Lead and manage the Piping designers and external consultants
• Ensure design is delivered on time, to budget and technically compliant
• Ensure management systems and digital processes are followed for assurance
• Collaborate with clients, Costain and partner design teams
• Embed principles of carbon minimisation and Production Thinking / MMC into solutions
• Ensure designs follow safe-by-design principles and contribute to improved project quality
• Oversee design change management to prevent unnecessary changes
• Provide judgment and advice for optimized solutions to meet program requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree / Engineering or management apprenticeship with industry experience
• Chartered member of professional institute (i.e. IMechE)
• Project Management training / skills
• Be an authority in Piping design.
• Experience of utility infrastructure design.
• Experience of technical management being able to understand and review Piping design deliverables
• Experience in implementing and delivering strategic objectives and dealing with change.
• Extensive knowledge of UK legislation and standards.
• Awareness of risk identification, quantification, management and of HSE requirements.
