Provide project engineering support and direction to manufacturing facilities regarding capital projects
Optimize current operations, reduce cost, introduce new products, and meet government and customer requirements
Implement construction projects as needed throughout the Company
Development, design, and management of capital projects including equipment and facility upgrades, capacity expansions, and distribution expansions
Obtain and evaluate proposals for capital equipment purchases and mechanical, electrical, and civil work
Preparation of Requests for Quotation (RFQ), engineering bid specifications, project success criteria, P&ID and PFD
Coordinate and direct facility construction and installation of equipment and services with suppliers, contractors, and production/maintenance personnel
Work with Operations Managers, PMO, R&D, Customer Service, and Sales Personnel in developing new processes and methods and cost estimates for the introduction of new products
Work with Maintenance Managers in solving complex problems and improving maintenance methods and costs
Audit operations and assist in the preparation and maintenance of documentation and training needed to keep plants compliant with all regulatory agency requirements
Keep abreast of new technology in packaging, processing, and automation to maintain an advantage over competitors and position as a low-cost quality producer

Requirements
Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, PE preferred
Minimum of 10 years experience in a food manufacturing operation
Experience in project management, CAD, mechanical/civil and electrical engineering
Previous experience in the oils, spreads and dressing industry a plus
Firm knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices and Government regulations as they apply to a food manufacturing operation (OSHA, EPA, FDA, USDA, GMP)
Skilled in problem solving and process development
Strong management skills in coordinating the efforts of plant personnel and outside contractors
Daily working knowledge of AutoCAD, Word and Excel required
Knowledge of JD Edwards a plus
Ability to manage projects involving multiple contractors from conception to start-up
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently
Knowledge of packaging and processing automation
Ability to handle multiple duties and projects simultaneously
Strong team and personal leadership skills
Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization using written and verbal presentation skills
Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, refrigeration, hydraulic, and boiler systems
