Responsible for the complete design and execution of complex civil/structural engineering assignments
Apply and adhere to departmental design, drafting standards, and best engineering practices
Review and understand project scope, specifications, and design criteria
Develop conceptual layouts, alternatives, and cost studies
Prepare estimate-level preliminary designs and material take-offs
Perform detailed structural design calculations
Design structures with efficient material utilization, constructability, and client expectations in mind
Review and check calculations prepared by other engineers
Collaborate with drafting personnel and engineers from other disciplines
Communicate design issues or scope changes to senior engineering leadership
Support development of complete civil/structural work packages
Review vendor documents, fabrication drawings, and interdisciplinary drawings
Develop and review construction specifications and engineering deliverables
Provide construction support, including field investigations

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university
Structural engineering coursework required
Professional Engineer (PE) registration is highly preferred
Minimum of 6+ years of relevant industrial civil/structural engineering experience
Strong working knowledge of the International Building Code (IBC) and applicable standards (ASCE, AISC, ACI, etc.)
Proficiency in structural analysis and design software
Solid understanding of engineering practices related to industrial, process, and manufacturing facilities
Demonstrated ability to lead engineering teams and deliver projects successfully
Effective presentation and client-facing communication skills
Working knowledge of CAD software (AutoCAD, MicroStation, or both)
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Experience working with virtual teams and providing interoffice execution leadership
