Associate – Indirect Tax

Role Overview

• Responsible for Canadian indirect tax issues including GST/HST, PST, fuels, carbon and excise taxes
• Provide excellent client service with timely and proactive indirect tax advice and consulting
• Conduct tax research including nexus and registration analysis, compliance, and audit defense
• Draft written technical advice regarding tax treatment of various transactions
• Interact with government officials during indirect tax audits

Requirements

• 2+ years of recent experience in public accounting, professional services firm or corporate tax department
• Familiarity with researching indirect tax laws and regulations
• Strong oral communication and writing skills and experience in teaching or presenting to clients or staff
