This position is responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring territorial protection activities for Wildlife Works' forest carbon (REDD+) projects in Brazil, operating in the Amazon region, ensuring implementation of measures to address risks such as incursions and deforestation.
The professional will be responsible for structuring and operationalizing territorial protection strategies across the company's projects, providing technical direction for field activities and liaising with local communities and public agencies responsible for enforcement and territorial protection in the Brazilian Amazon.
The role requires active field presence in the Amazon region and the ability to work in remote, high-complexity contexts, conducting risk analyses, prioritizing actions, and directing territorial protection strategies in coordination with technical, social, and operational teams.
Requirements
University degree in Environmental Management, Geography, Public Security, Law, or related fields;
Proven experience in territorial protection, environmental enforcement, or field work in contexts of deforestation, illegal mining (garimpo), or territorial conflicts in the Brazilian Amazon;
Practical experience working in remote areas of the Brazilian Amazon;
Knowledge of land-use dynamics, land tenure conflicts, and drivers of deforestation in the Amazon;
Field experience that includes interaction with local communities and/or Indigenous peoples;
Availability for frequent travel and field activities in remote regions;
Experience engaging with public agencies on territorial protection and anti-deforestation activities.
