Prepare legal opinions and respond to the most complex inquiries from the institution's areas regarding compliance with applicable laws and financial-sector regulation issued by the Brazilian Central Bank (BACEN) and the Brazilian Securities and Exchange Commission (CVM);
Respond to internal and external audits;
Monitor and coordinate the institution's response to inspections by the Central Bank of Brazil;
Continuous monitoring of regulatory and legislative changes, including impact analyses and communication to internal areas;
Monitor and track the institution's regulatory compliance through indicators, presenting findings to senior management;
Direct interaction with senior/executive management, including preparation and presentation of executive reports, indicators and critical analyses;
Participate in meetings with the Board and forums, contributing technical recommendations and risk assessments;
Perform regulatory compliance testing and prepare the annual Compliance Report;
Draft and review internal Compliance policies and regulations, and assess new products from a regulatory compliance perspective;
Produce technical notes, legal opinions and detailed analyses on relevant AML/CFT (PLD/FT) regulatory topics;
Prepare materials and deliver internal training to reinforce the compliance culture;
Conduct due diligence on partners and suppliers (KYP, KYS) with a focus on financial regulatory risk;
Collaborate with technology, product, legal and operations teams to ensure preventive controls and regulatory adherence;
Monitor trends, typologies, emerging risks and best practices in the financial market.
Requirements
Law degree;
Solid experience and knowledge of financial/banking system legislation and regulation;
Courses or postgraduate studies in Compliance, AML/CFT (PLD/FT), Risk Management and Governance, Criminal Law and/or Administrative Law;
Advanced English (written and spoken) and Spanish desirable.
