Support the Group Finance function in completing a one-off programme of balance sheet reconciliation and strengthening financial control across multiple group entities following the implementation of a new finance system
Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations for the UK entity and overseas group entities
Investigate historic unreconciled balances, identify root causes, and prepare adjustment journals where required to bring accounts to a reconciled position
Liaise with overseas finance managers to obtain explanations and supporting information for balances recorded in local ledgers
Review branch loan balances and assess opportunities to clear balances
Assist with the review of overseas entity statutory financial statements prepared by local external accountants or auditors
Prepare audit-ready supporting schedules for key balance sheet accounts and assist with responding to audit queries
Requirements
Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) or equivalent experience
Strong financial accounting and balance sheet reconciliation experience
Experience working with multi-entity or international groups
Excellent Excel skills and strong attention to detail
Experience working in a project-based organisation or with project accounting structures would be advantageous
Understanding of accounting issues such as project accruals, deferred income, and work-in-progress balances
Ability to investigate complex accounting issues
Experience with ERP systems (experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 desirable but not essential)
Strong organisational skills and ability to work independently
