Lead and manage a team of wired and wireless engineers, providing mentorship and task prioritization to ensure timely project delivery.
Communicate effectively with the Program Manager and stakeholders, offering updates on project progress and alignment with DoW objectives.
Ensure compliance with DoW 8140, Defense Cyber Workforce Framework (DCWF) standards, and Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG).
Oversee the documentation of infrastructure designs, diagrams, and configurations to ensure accuracy and consistency across projects.
Lead network planning strategies, including enterprise wireless local area network (WLAN) design, along with advanced wireless radio frequency (RF) site surveys and security designs.
Design, implement, monitor, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, WLAN, data center connectivity, and SD-WAN solutions.
Design, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain TCP and IP networks, including hardware, such as switches and routers, software, such as OS, NMS, and NAC, services, such as timing, logging, and QoS, and ISP and OSP distribution systems, such as fiber, copper cables, and related infrastructure.
Collaborate on the deployment of 802.11 wireless standards, focusing on advanced site surveying and RF design methodologies to improve system performance.
Manage network services, such as timing synchronization, logging mechanisms, and QoS implementations, ensuring operational reliability.
Provide technical expertise in assessing vulnerabilities within wired and wireless infrastructure, conducting cybersecurity scans, and recommending mitigation strategies.
Optimize enterprise and tactical network health using tools like SolarWinds, Wireshark, and other network management systems (NMS).
Requirements
8+ years of experience in network engineering
3+ years of experience direct DoW management or leadership
Experience with infrastructure components such as fiber and copper cables, ISP and OSP networks, and physical transport technologies
Experience with Network planning and design strategies for enterprise wireless local area networks (WLAN), wireless site surveying techniques, RF design, 802.11 wireless standards, WLAN security, and troubleshooting of WLAN deployments
Experience with designing infrastructure and network services, including timing synchronization, logging services, and overall wireless and wired strategy for scalability
Knowledge of SolarWinds, Wireshark, and network troubleshooting platforms
Ability to travel up to 25% of the time

DoW 8140 or Defense Cyber Workforce Framework (DCWF) compliant, such as CompTIA Security+, Network+, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), or CISSP Certification
