About this role
Role Overview
- assist in the design, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, and data center connectivity
- participate in the configuration, management, and troubleshooting of wireless LANs, controllers, and access points
- support the analysis of packet data using tools like Wireshark and work on network health assessments and performance tuning
- conduct and document cybersecurity vulnerability scans to help ensure compliance with DoW standards
- develop and maintain basic documentation, network diagrams, and technical designs under the guidance of senior engineers
- provide first-line support to troubleshoot and resolve network issues across enterprise and tactical environments
- learn and implement DoW cybersecurity compliance standards and Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in IT or networking roles
- experience with networking tools such as Wireshark or SolarWinds
- knowledge of networking concepts and protocols such as TCP/IP, DHCP, ARP, HTTP, and SNMP
- knowledge of routing and switching technologies
- knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices
- ability to create and interpret basic network diagrams and documentation
- ability to travel up to 50% of the time
- Secret clearance
- HS diploma or GED
- IAT Level 1 certification
