Provide innovative, fit-for-purpose, development of projects in support of business drivers that protect and/or enhance pipeline and facility throughput and revenue, often providing options that permit customer flexibility and choice.
Ensure appropriate stakeholder management; preliminary determination of regulatory requirements; completion of front-end engineering and designs, cost estimates, and project execution strategies are developed.
Develop charters from Rough Order of Magnitude to Class 3 scope supported by estimates and schedules to meet the needs of various sponsors.
Develop individual projects as well as manage portfolio of projects such as programs or work types.
Present to and review charters with senior leadership highlighting key steps in the development process including decisions, risks, collaboration, etc.
Draft and issue Project Decision Records to clarify and clearly communicate project sponsorship and drivers where required.
Develop realistic and reliable project schedules and cost estimates for projects, while appropriately defining risks, uncertainties and likelihood for those schedules and cost estimates.
Application of knowledge, experience, and expert resources, to ensure schedules and cost estimates are appropriate for the project scope and risk profile.
Requirements
Engineering degree in an applicable subject area.
Six or more years of progressively responsible experience in oil and gas engineering, operations, project management and/or project development.
In Canada, a Professional Engineering designation with APEGA is required.
Proficiency and communications skills related to leading and acting independently providing direction in a project environment.
Ability to self-prioritize and problem solve using appropriate industry standard methodologies.
Effective verbal and non-verbal communication skills including making presentations to senior leadership.
Valid passport to travel and work between US and Canada.
Role requires a valid driver’s license, which will be verified with a motor vehicle check prior to hire.
