Provides operational, accounting, and consulting services for Tribal governments, including monthly closing, grants management, grant reporting, and financial reporting
Prepares and records journal entries
Develops policies and procedures on key accounting matters
Perform project start-up activities, such as following project work plans, adhering to schedules, and attending kickoff meetings
Reviews the work of self for accuracy
Serves as an integral member of our Business Consulting Services team
Occasionally travels to client locations, firm trainings, or industry conferences
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required; emphasis in Accounting or related field preferred
Minimum of 1 year of related experience, not for profit and/or governmental experience preferred
Experience in grants management, financial accounting including account reconciliation, governmental accounting standards implementation, and/or accounts payable processing preferred
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to understand problems, think critically and identify creative solutions
Effective time management and organizational skills
Works independently to prioritize work, establish goals and produce quality work
Proficient with Microsoft Office and one or more government accounting/grant management software systems
