Claims Specialist – Complex Claims Unit, Bodily Injury

Role Overview

• Manage all aspects of complex, high-value claims
• Provide proactive communications to customers and business partners
• Review and analyze insurance policies and coverage sections
• Write and articulate concise, accurate coverage positions
• Conduct thorough investigations regarding claims and/or lawsuits
• Effectively manage litigation and counsel
• Develop and communicate coverage, liability, and damage assessments
• Offer guidance to leadership via presentations
• Pursue coverage and liability risk transfers
• Attend mediations and trials as needed
• Proactively manage accurate expense, reserve, and financial transactions
• Maintain up-to-date claims metrics
• Leverage AI-powered tools to enhance claim reviews

Requirements

• 5+ years latent bodily injury claim handling experience
• Experience in handling affirmative/defensive risk transfer; including additional insured tenders
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent analytical and critical thinking ability
• Ability to present in a roundtable setting with a well-reasoned and analytical evaluation
• Experience in the creation and delivery of presentations
• Superior customer service skills and active listening skills
• Proven track record of prioritizing and managing multiple responsibilities
• Proven track record of effective negotiations/settlement of high-value general liability claims
• Demonstrated negotiation and conflict resolution skills
• Proficiency with MS Office, especially Word and Excel
• Active Property & Casualty State Insurance Adjuster license.
• Proficiency utilizing AI-powered tools to enhance claim reviews and streamline workflows
