Acting in a leadership capacity across all business areas to ensure effective implementation of global safety and occupational health programs and driving a harm-free workplace culture
Developing and driving consistent application of policies, procedures and programs worldwide
Lead the organization’s ergonomic design strategy to further mitigate long-term risk
Developing safety and occupational health programs based upon data and trends to mitigate risk of injury / illness
Participate in audit programs to evaluate conformance to corporate and regulatory standards
Proactively following scientific / technical developments and trends
Recommending approaches to improve safety and occupational health outcomes and communicating technical solutions in layman’s terms
Development, alignment, and consistent implementation of global EHS policies and programs (technical safety, occupational health, emergency management, etc.) used throughout the company
Interacting collaboratively with global and site EHS leadership to drive continuous improvement
Serve in a leadership role supporting business unit leaders, engineering, and local operations to ensure effective execution of Safety and Occupational Health programs
Providing data and trend analysis to effectively lead changes where needed and drive alignment of local site Safety and Occupational Health programs with business objectives
Overseeing adoption and implementation of Safety and Occupational Health policies and programs at new operational sites and R&D locations
Leading and assisting site EHS Managers and business unit leaders with management of change activities and proactive safety and occupational health risk reduction / prevention initiatives and strategies
Manage integration of safety and occupational health (e.g. ergonomic) design criteria into capital engineering designs
Manage global programs such as Machine Guarding, Powered Industrial Trucks, Lockout / Tagout, Industrial Hygiene and others
Support implementation of digital management systems.

Requirements
Minimum of 10 years of safety, occupational health or related experience and 5 years in management as a people leader
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in safety, science, or engineering required; Master’s degree preferred
Deep technical experience in safety and occupational health
Knowledge / understanding of environmental compliance and sustainability is desirable
CSP, CIH, PE or other certifications preferred
Fluent in English
Excellent interpersonal and influence skills, ability to crystallize the issues and communicate, manage, and drive results among peers and executives globally
Deep knowledge and understanding of safety and occupational health operations at large global multi-site businesses
Experience managing and/or leading safety and occupational health programs in non-U.S. locations such as Europe, Asia and LATAM
Ability to translate and apply safety and occupational health knowledge into concrete business plans, decisions, and actions
Strong ability to manage change relative to safety and occupational health aspects associated with people changes, equipment and process changes
Ability to lead global cross-site and cross-functional teams to meet strategy objectives, with a focus on measurable results
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to simplify and communicate complex messages to peers and executives to influence outcomes
Ability to recognize the need to effectively escalate risks or areas that threaten the success of health, safety or occupational health initiatives
Strong computer literacy skills including mastery knowledge of Microsoft suite (excel, word, power-point) skills.
