Lead design efforts for fire alarm, fire suppression, and smoke control systems for building projects
Develop detailed designs, specifications, and calculations in accordance with applicable codes and IMEG standards
Perform site assessments and produce technical analyses and reports
Partner with clients to gather requirements, communicate technical information, and maintain strong client relationships
Conduct in-process design reviews and apply IMEG quality control processes to confirm accuracy and completeness
Provide technical training/mentoring and assist with resolution of field issues
Requirements
Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent, required
Professional Engineer (PE) License in Fire Protection Engineering required
7 years of experience minimum required, or equivalent, required
Advanced proficiency in design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specifications
Advanced proficiency in technical and analytical skills including proficiency in principles of thermodynamics, fire dynamics, heat transfer and fluid mechanics
Strong training, mentoring and leadership skills
Proficiency of industry standard engineering software and tools
Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
Ability to travel up to 20% with occasional overnight stays
