Senior Manager, Payroll

Role Overview

• Oversee all aspects of payroll operations
• Responsible for design, implementation, and optimization of payroll processes
• Manage several payroll cycles (bi-weekly, semi-monthly and monthly)
• Own the architecture, workflows, internal controls, and compliance requirements of the payroll function
• Develop short‑ and long‑term strategies to drive efficiency and accuracy in payroll processing and service delivery
• Ensure timely governmental reporting and regulatory compliance
• Serve as a key liaison between Finance and Human Resources
• Provide accurate and actionable payroll‑related data to leadership
• Manage and develop payroll staff in day‑to‑day operations

Requirements

• 5+ yrs of progressive payroll management experience
• 3+ yrs of managing payroll teams within a multi-state healthcare organization or management services organization (MSO)
• Extensive experience (5+ years) with ADP WFN, ADP iReports, ADP Smart Compliance
• Expertise in multi-jurisdiction taxation, wage and hour compliance and payroll regulatory standards
• Proven experience designing/improving workflows and building payroll operations
• Experience integrating payroll systems and processes during mergers and acquisitions (M&A)
• Experience supporting multiple FEINs, legal entities and complex employment structures
