About this role

Responsible for the development and implementation of plant safety/health programs
Provide on-site leadership, guidance and assistance to plant staff
Develop, implement and manage safety and health programs to ensure compliance
Review all safety policies annually for compliance with current regulations
Develop and implement environmental programs to assure compliance
Perform periodic safety and environmental audits
Develop recommendations for improvement
Manage environmental and safety reporting systems for incident reporting

Good understanding of federal, state and local safety and workers’ compensation laws
BS in safety or environmental science, engineering or related field recommended
Experience (3-7 years) in coordinating, managing and developing Environmental Health and Safety programs
Experience (3 years) in industrial safety, health protection and regulatory compliance
Proficient computer skills in MS Office and database programs
Self-starter, good people skills, strong personal leadership, organizational skills, oral and written communication skills
Good understanding of federal, state and local environmental laws and regulations
