About this role
Role Overview
Perform structural analysis, seismic qualification and assessment, structural design, and ageing management
Prepare engineering design calculations for structural systems involving steel, reinforced concrete and masonry
Prepare design documents and compile engineering packages
Analyze structural systems and elements using Analysis Software programs
Ensure Compliance with applicable Codes, Standards and Regulations
Accountable for the delivery of all engineering deliverables/task to achieve project objectives
Provide technical instructions to Junior staff or designers
Review and comment on the work performed by others
Participate in formal engineering design and other reviews
Perform plant walkdowns as required
Requirements
Civil Engineering degree from an accredited University
Minimum 10 years of structural analysis and design experience in steel and concrete structures in Nuclear Power Plants and/or industrial buildings
Master’s degree and above is an asset
Licensed in a professional engineering organization recognized in Canada
Preferably registered as a Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario
3 to 5 years of site or field experience in Nuclear Power Plants and/or industrial buildings is an asset
Experience with static, dynamic and seismic analysis of structures and foundations
Deep and thorough understanding of structural engineering gained through design-office and site experience
Thorough knowledge of Canadian and International Codes and standards used in Civil/Structural engineering
Thorough knowledge of the use of Analysis software commonly used such as StaadPro, SAP2000, ETABS, SAFE, etc
Knowledge of modification process of Nuclear Power Plant; ECC process or similar is an asset
Good skills in time management and setting priorities
Demonstrated good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team
